In the practise session on the last thursday the band began to rehearse new material. There are some five or six songs ready and waiting the mutilation by the band and more songs are on the way. I'm happy to announce that the silence of almost a year is about to be broken since we are finally going to have a new training place. Yes, we haven't got one since the last August and that's the reason why nothing but couple of archival releases has happened. Antipope should start to rehearse in next month if everything goes well. In a couple of months you might get a chance to hear some new stuff also, since as far as I have heard, MM has been composing new songs through the winter. Anyway, some time this year I hope you will probably get a chance to hear something new from the pit.

There has also been some prolonged rumours circling out there, whispering about a new full-length release: Some of you who have kept on checking regularly our official website, the Palace of Antipope, might have noticed that a new release crept from the abyss and placed itself on the "discography" subpage.
Greetings constant listener.

The two questions asked in the subject will remain unanswered. The re-mixing of Razorwire takes as long as it has to. Since no one is paying me for the post-production, sometimes it gets postponed because of some other things I'm not getting paid for.

Good news is that due to immense world wide demand for new Antipope releases, we are planning to slightly open the vaults of the palace of Antipope and let loose another older abomination, Foreplay for Overthrow. You can actually find it HERE already, but I'm re-mixing it also, since the version you can find by following the link above isn't very good. The new version can be found on mikseri.net once it's finished. In addition to that, by downloading the new version of Foreplay for Overthrow, once it will be available, you will become eligible to order a cupful of Pope Joan's menorrhoea.
I finally got my hands on this. Or to be more accurate, my ears on it. Ulver's latest recording has been out for a year and a half but I haven't got a chance to get to listen to it before tonight really. There are enough "reviews" about it so I'm not going to do that, just to write couple of my personal feelings about it.
First: don't trust the reviews, listen to it by yourself and then decide whether you like it or not.
Second: as with all the previous Ulver albums this too should be listened to as something bigger than just collection of individual tracks. The power in the Ulver's music has always been in constructing musical worlds that slowly open and become more clear after each track of the album in concern.

~Pope

Finally our webslave has added some pictures of the band members on our official website. Now you can get to see what do they actually look like, if you have ever been interested in that. It is a horror show, but that shouldn't be any surprise really. Follow the LINK.

Greetings constant reader (yeah right, I wish I had one).

Anyway, after couple of months of downtime I decided to bring Gurthnar's live-journal back online after clean-up. I removed (almost) all non-Antipope related entries and that's the way this journal is going to be, only Antipope related stuff. So if you're looking for social-pornography, go read someone else's journal.

So what is this shit about then? Well, if you look at the previous entries you get some kind of picture. "Making-of Antipope songs" and making them available in the Net and also known for those "2" people who could be interested in them is the main reason of existence for this journal. In short, this journal is 90% about promotion and 10% about my personal feelings about and only about things around the creative process, the decompositions, and things like that.

And yes, something Antipopish:
The latest piece of the background noise from hell, Stormbringer, is available for the crazed and the damned and other good christian people. The take you can find on the external site is two years old, actually the oldest of those that have been presented for the hungry crowd so far. I took couple of hours of careful listening to it and did new mix.

Currently, I'm working on the mix of Razorwire. Once it's done you can get to hear the whole piece, not just clip of it.

Antipope recorded the latest musical abomination last night. After couple hours of mixing I have to admit that it sounds pretty good and quite heavy. Unlike the recent rumours keep telling Antipope is not going to change musical direction into europop. As guitarist NecroVinterDemonHunter stated it: "We're happy to continue on our current path sodomyzing whatever style that seems inappropriate. Antipope will continue to play without skill exclusively."
