Greetings constant listeners.

Here's some of the latest rumors from the Antipope camp:
Antipope has been rehearsing couple of new songs and is still writing new material (6 pieces more or less ready so far).
Band is also upgrading recording gear and once it's done, they will tape (figuratively speaking) some old and some new material.
Two of the titles of half dozen and some more new tracks are published:
"Rhamnousia" and "An incantation to make all the welkin ring the name of the Antipope".

Stay tuned and look forward to hear more rumors and to get a chance to listen to new monstrosities in next month when night is longer than day.

Until then, rot well.
~Fidei defensor

Greetings constant listener.

Antipope has entered the 2nd production season for real. In the practise session on the last thursday the band began to rehearse new material. There are some five or six songs ready and waiting the mutilation by the band and more songs are on the way. As usually, some kind of regression has taken place, and I can tell you that what you will hear will be as devilish as ever.

P.S.
There are also couple of photos from the Torture Chamber 2.
Grrreetings constant listener.

It's been over 2 months since the last update and that should tell how hibernated things have been in Antipope conclave lately. I'm happy to announce that the silence of almost a year is about to be broken since we are finally going to have a new training place. Yes, we haven't got one since the last August and that's the reason why nothing but couple of archival releases has happened. Antipope should start to rehearse in next month if everything goes well. In a couple of months you might get a chance to hear some new stuff also, since as far as I have heard, MM has been composing new songs through the winter. So maybe it's time for something new at last.

Lock up your cattle!

Greetings constant listener.

It's time for the hopefully at least monthly update.
Slowly but steadily daylight time gets longer and longer up here in north and due to that unfortunate fact we here at the Antipope camp have started to write new antimaterial to spread the darkness and so on and on. Anyway, some time this year I hope you will probably get a chance to hear something new from the pit.

There has also been some prolonged rumours circling out there, whispering about a new full-length release: Some of you who have kept on checking regularly our official website, the Palace of Antipope, might have noticed that a new release crept from the abyss and placed itself on the "discography" subpage. I will keep you updated but make sure to check the official site also every now and then.

I am also happy to announce that full version of Razorwire is now available.
Greetings constant listener.

All Hallows eve is well behind and it's time for another Antipope song release. And no, I'm not talking about the remixes and stuff I kept promising through the October. Godmade Abyss is a completely new song. In fact, it was composed and deranged over two years ago and recorded around that time. Godmade Abyss was the opening track for Antipope's very limited edition EP that was distributed only in Japan. So this is the first time that the rest of the world gets a chance to listen to it.

Enjoy.

~the Pope

Where the hell is the complete version of Razorwire...why is it taking so long?

Greetings constant listener.

The two questions asked in the subject will remain unanswered. The re-mixing of Razorwire takes as long as it has to. Since no one is paying me for the post-production, sometimes it gets postponed because of some other things I'm not getting paid for.

Good news is that due to immense world wide demand for new Antipope releases, we are planning to slightly open the vaults of the palace of Antipope and let loose another older abomination, Foreplay for Overthrow. You can actually find it HERE already, but I'm re-mixing it also, since the version you can find by following the link above isn't very good. The new version can be found on mikseri.net once it's finished. In addition to that, by downloading the new version of Foreplay for Overthrow, once it will be available, you will become eligible to order a cupful of Pope Joan's menorrhoea. We are working on the international distribution.

That should keep you satisfied for now.

I finally got my hands on this. Or to be more accurate, my ears on it. Ulver's latest recording has been out for a year and a half but I haven't got a chance to get to listen to it before tonight really. There are enough "reviews" about it so I'm not going to do that, just to write couple of my personal feelings about it.
First: don't trust the reviews, listen to it by yourself and then decide whether you like it or not.
Second: as with all the previous Ulver albums this too should be listened to as something bigger than just collection of individual tracks. The power in the Ulver's music has always been in constructing musical worlds that slowly open and become more clear after each track of the album in concern.

~Pope

Back from the grave

Greetings constant reader (yeah right, I wish I had one).

Anyway, after couple of months of downtime I decided to bring Gurthnar's live-journal back online after clean-up. I removed (almost) all non-Antipope related entries and that's the way this journal is going to be, only Antipope related stuff. So if you're looking for social-pornography, go read someone else's journal.

So what is this shit about then? Well, if you look at the previous entries you get some kind of picture. "Making-of Antipope songs" and making them available in the Net and also known for those "2" people who could be interested in them is the main reason of existence for this journal. In short, this journal is 90% about promotion and 10% about my personal feelings about and only about things around the creative process, the decompositions, and things like that.

And yes, something Antipopish:
The latest piece of the background noise from hell, Stormbringer, is available for the crazed and the damned and other good christian people. The take you can find on the external site is two years old, actually the oldest of those that have been presented for the hungry crowd so far. I took couple of hours of careful listening to it and did new mix.

Currently, I'm working on the mix of Razorwire. Once it's done you can get to hear the whole piece, not just clip of it.

Antipope recorded the latest musical abomination last night. After couple hours of mixing I have to admit that it sounds pretty good and quite heavy. Unlike the recent rumours keep telling Antipope is not going to change musical direction into europop. As guitarist NecroVinterDemonHunter stated it: "We're happy to continue on our current path sodomyzing whatever style that seems inappropriate. Antipope will continue to play without skill exclusively."
